How can a devotee surrender to a Spiritual Guide who is not physically with them?

Baba:

Surrender with a firm faith that the Spiritual Guide is always with you in
your heart. Positively reassure yourself again and again. When this becomes
firm in your Mind, such a Mind stops analyzing or judging anything. It
simply takes everything as the blessings of Spiritual Guide and everything
that happens in life is that the Spiritual Guide is driving you as torch
bearer or charioteer towards your ultimate abode only.
